Deep Stone Crypt raid guide
Deep Stone Crypt takes place in Europe and is Destiny 2’s eighth raid. Although it only has a handful of encounters, this raid has a few mechanics that will make the first attempt quite difficult. Before entering, the recommended strength is 1220, where the final battle reaches 1250. The closer you are to maximum current, the easier it will be.
Recommended Weapons – Deep Stone Crypt
With Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, the weapon meta has shifted significantly. Fan-favorite weapons have been sunset, and new legendary weapons are making their mark. This has resulted in many weapons being both viable and non-viable for raid meetings.
For Deep Stone Crypt, it’s worth finding a heavy machine gun you are comfortable using. Whether this is Heir Apparent, the new thermal erosion or something similar Xenophage is completely personal preference.
The other types of weapons should be those that take advantage of the season’s artifact Overload, Anti-Barrier and Unstoppable mods.
Pike & sparrow – desolate
The first encounter in Deep Stone Crypt is a pike section (though Sparrows can be used). For this section, the goal is to work from bubble to bubble to avoid the storm, work over icebergs to reach the end.
Each bubble offers a buff called Shelter from the Storm, and while outside a bubble, the storm uses the Frostbite debuff. A player will die if Frostbite debuff reaches 10 stacks. While inside these bubbles, the Fallen will attack. A fallen brig will attack the final safe point.
Disable CryptoSecurity – Limited
The first real encounter with Deep Stone Crypt is Crypt Security. In this section, the goal is to use the scanner and operator buffers to lower the shielding of the central safety tubes so that damage can be treated. Use the Augment stations to start the match.
- Business scanner and operator buffs
- The scanner looks through the floor and calls for panels, transmitting buff
- Operator shoots all 4 panels
- Scanner buff sent to the operator below
- New scanner calls on which tube is secured to shoot
The arena is divided into a light and dark side as well as an upper and lower level. Each page has an Augment station that is used to transmit the operator and scanner buffers.
Has two players on the easy side and two on the right, with two other players below. The players on the light and dark side are responsible for looking through the floor and calling which panel is the right one for the players below to shoot.
Starting the meeting causes operator vandals to spawn, losing the operator buffer when defeated. Grab this buff and transfer it using the Augment stations to the players that will be below. A player must also have the scanner buff at this point.
The scanner should look through the floor and shout out which panel to slide, then guide the scanner to the opposite side using the Augment station. The next scanner should do the same.
The operator must quickly slide each of the panels and then pass the Operator buff again. The scanners should pass the scanner buff below.
At this point, the scanner under the arena will be able to see which of the six central fuses is the right one to shoot. The other five players must destroy the fuse and then go to the next one, which the scanner calls. This damage phase lasts about 60 seconds. When the shielding of the pipes is lowered, the damage phase is over and the steps must be repeated.
Throughout the match, the Overload Captains will spawn as Sentinel Servitors disabling the Augment stations. Handling waiters should be a top priority. In the injury phase, Exploder Shanks will spawn, so pay attention to them to avoid a team blow.
When all six pipe fuses are broken, the meeting is over. Claim your reward from the chest near the door.
Atraks-1, Fallen Exo – Clarity Control
The next big encounter in the Deep Stone Crypt raid is against Atraks-1, Fallen Exo. This session focuses on dealing with damage to Atraks-1 replicants, pushing debuffs into space, and using the scanner and operator buffers.
- Defeat Vandal and claim Operator buff, three players go out into space
- Space team defeats Vandal and claims Scanner buff, defeats Sentinel Servitors
- The scanner calls out the correct Atraks-1 replicant, it gets destroyed
- Replication debuff is collected, Operator can shoot the player to cycle debuff
- Pass the scanner / operator buffers down to the non-space players as needed, doing as above
- When all four replication debuffs are collected, four players go into an airlock and the operator shoots them
Like the first encounter, the Atraks-1 battle is divided into two different sections, a space station and Crypt. The space station has several air locks that are used to push the Atraks-1 replication debuff into space.
To get the Atraks-1 replication debuff, players must defeat the correct Atraks-1 replicant. The real one is seen by the player assembling the scanner. The right one will have a glowing pattern in front of it.
The Atraks-1 replication buffer lasts 40 seconds, after which it kills the player. An operator can shoot the player to cycle debuff and refresh the timer.
Once four Atraks-1 replicants have been defeated and the replication debug has been collected, these four players must go into an airlock (opened by an operator) and shot by the operator to push the debuff into space.
The injury phase is underway. Any correct Atraks-1 replicant that is defeated removes part of the boss’s health bar. The Atraks-1 replica can be damaged, even after it disappears, use this to your advantage.
The last notch in the boss’s health bar is a condensed version of the fight. Each Atraks-1 replicant will start a wipe mechanic, killing them in the correct order (as the scanner has called out) to get the last notch of health down.
