Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., knows how to turn a dazzling news cycle around because she knows she can count on the help of a large number of easily impressed journalists.
Recently, border camps with illegal immigrants and asylum – Ocasio-Cortez received an invitation from a Holocaust memorial group to travel Auschwitz with a 93-year-old Jewish survivor.
The French congresswoman responded by claiming, for no reason, that the offer was part of a large right conspiracy against her.
As silly as it sounds, journalists jump to her defense again.
The group from the depths invited Ocasio-Cortez to travel around Auschwitz last week when the Congressman and her devoted followers clung to the ridiculous claim that she had not compared the third-kingdom concentration camps with temporary US immigration holding facilities (she had) . Ocasio-Cortez did not respond to the invitation. She did not even acknowledge it and chose instead to pretend that her interconnection of the words "concentration camp" with the Holocaust-specific phrase "Never Again" could mean anything.
The creepy story is that she called the invitation as part of a "bang back" on a controversial Republican congressman who had called her to take the tour, and if whose own tour of Auschwitz had deserved annoying controversy because he mated it with meetings with far right politicians.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, came out of self-secluded Sunday to invite Ocasio-Cortez to accept from the depths offer.
"I went to Auschwitz & Birkenau with Eddie Mausberg & [From the Depths founder] Jonny Daniels in the depths" said Congressman on social media . "I went with a deep understanding of Shoah and had a deep personal experience. Please accept their offerings."
It was at the time when King commented on the invitation of the depths that Ocasio-Cortez suddenly decided to recognize the group's offer. But it is only because the Kings tweet gave her the opening she was looking for to avoid the invitation while also alleging victims.
"The last time you went on this trip, it was reported that you also met with Austrian neo-Nazi groups for talk-shop," Congress Science's office tweeted . "So I have to reject your invitation. But thank you for revealing to everyone how translucent far right manipulates these moments into political gain."
But of course it wasn't King's invitation to expand. It was an invitation from a genuine Holocaust Remembrance Group that reaches out to regular politicians like King and Ocasio-Cortez as they experience historic forgetfulness about the 20th century's greatest cruelty.
The last time you went on this trip, it was reported that you also met fringe Austrian neo-Nazi groups at the talk shop.
So I have to reject your invitation. But thank you for revealing to everyone how transparent far right manipulates these moments into political gain. Https: // t. Co / TQkaPEESoD

First, King did not invite Ocasio-Cortez to travel Auschwitz. He only recommended that she consider their appeal. Secondly, let it not go unnoticed that she ignored the invitation until she saw an opening to score a light thump on an unpopular congressman. Real valor, that. Ocasio-Cortez clearly hides behind the fact that King, who was removed from his committee duties in January after remarks he made in defense of "white nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization", is a problematic person.
Ocasio-Cortez has successfully distracted from the core problem by comparing US immigration facilities to concentration camps by gathering from the depths of King and far right and launching a broadside against Iowa Republican. This is clearly reflected in how newsrooms have covered her in calling the invitation.
In addition, Ocasio-Cortez has also freed her from the opportunity to tour Auschwitz and the opportunity to admit that she has been wrong to compare what is happening at the border with what happened to the Jews in World War II. On top of all this, the congressman now claims the King's closeness to the invitation, as she is under attack from the right wing. And all this because she won't admit she might have gotten over her skis by comparing US detention facilities to Nazi extermination camps.
To the post here is what From the depths said in his invitation letter to Ocasio-Cortez:
The opportunity to visit the German Nazi concentration camps with Mr Mosberg, a 93-year-old survivor of history's most brutal genocide, will allow you to witness a witness, something that our generation will unfortunately be the last to do, due to the fact that the survivors are passing by an ever increasing rate. We await your response and look forward to learning with you about this painful story.
For the record, too, the American Holocaust Memorial Museum published a statement on Monday that "condemned efforts to create analogies between the Holocaust and other events, whether historical or contemporary." So it seems that Ocasio-Cortez is the true victim again. She must be a very courageous person to stand up for being the victim of this day every single day.
