The survival MMO Conan Exiles is not as popular as it once was, but the game recently debuted on Game Pass, and it seems that Funcom is hoping for a revival on Microsoft consoles, as they have just released a next generation Xbox series X / S update for the game. In addition to improved resolution (a bump from 900p at native 4K on the Xbox Series X), you also get improved textures, lush grass and foliage, volumetric fog and lighting, better viewing distance and more. Overall, Conan Exiles gets a pretty nice little glow. Check out the Conan Exiles Xbox Series X / S update trailer below.
Looks good! Conan Exiles also recently launches the large Isle of Siptah expansion, which adds the titular island rich in beautiful sights and some downright Lovecraftian beasties. Watch a trailer and description of the Isle of Siptah expansion below.
Wash ashore the mysterious Isle of Siptah, and jump into the battle for survival in this hostile environment. Explore the massive new eco-map and discover the ancient vaults of the oldest races. Survive the punishing storm that rages in the middle of the island and fight against the dark creatures in the outer cavity that spawn inside it.
Take control of the magical waves of sorcery and open portals to the outside world. Face dangerous challenges and enter Siptah’s ominous tower to reap rich rewards. Build mighty castles out of storm glass or protected wooden villages out of flotsam. The Isle of Siptah is in front of you and a new adventure is about to begin!
Conan Exiles is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PS4 and can be played via backward compatibility on PS5. No word on when / if a native PS5 from Conan Exiles will arrive, but it seems that Funcom is focusing its efforts on the Xbox so far.
