Chick-fil-A is trying to get people to “eat mom chicken” by giving them more options.
The chain announced that certain Chick-fil-A restaurants will start selling a honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich this fall.
The dish is an original Chick-fil-A fillet drizzled with honey, topped with southern pimento cheese and served on a toasted bun with mild pickled jalapeños, according to a company release.
“This is the first variant of the original chicken sandwich with chicken that we have tested as a seasonal item,” said Chef Stuart Tracy, one of Chick-fil-A’s senior culinary developers, in a statement.

Tracy and his team have been working on the concept for more than a year.
The company’s release said Tracy “took advantage of her previous restaurant experience” to determine that the best melting-style sandwiches had certain “standout elements” – salty, salty, sweet and melting.
“By incorporating these elements into the honey pepperpimento chicken sandwich, he was able to create something that appeals to a wide range of flavors,” the statement said.
The sandwich will initially only be available in select restaurants in North and South Carolina – specifically in upstate South Carolina and the Asheville, North Carolina area.
