Calaveras reports on its seventeenth death associated with COVID-19



San Andreas, CA – Calaveras Public Health reports a new death and two new cases of coronavirus in the county.

This brings the county’s total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 17 with 13 of them stemming from an outbreak in Avalon Health Care San Andreas, as reported here last week. The deceased is a man over the age of 65 who has resided in District 1. The State HIPAA Privacy Policy prohibits the release of additional information about this person.

Public Health also reported two additional cases, including a man between the ages of 18-49 and a man over the age of 65. Both cases are resident in District 5.

Currently, the county has a total of 333 confirmed cases of COVID-19 consisting of 184 women and 149 men with 138 of these cases in the age group of 18 to 49. There are 6 active cases and 310 that have since recovered. Calaveras County remains at the moderate risk level in the county (orange / level 3) on the state’s 4-tier COVID-19 business reopening system.
