(CNN) – A Boston man came home from work with his son to find something wrong.
He thought they might have been robbed. But after further inspection, he discovered that there was nothing and his home was sparkling clean.
Nate Roman lives in a single-family house in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Roman tells CNN that he went to work on the morning of May 15 and came home from gathering his son to find his door unlocked.
"[My son said]," Dad! The door is unlocked. & # 39; As I've done every blue moon and didn't think about it. But when we walked in immediately there was a vibe that was in the house. "
He realized that someone could have been in his home because a door he normally holds open was firmly closed. Roman then went up the stairs to check out the rest of the house.
] He discovered his son's room, which was a wreck when they left that morning, was neat as a pin. He found his place in the same pristine condition.
] "Carpets were dusty, everything was neat and sat down," said Roman.
He immediately called the police and they took the incident very seriously. They cleared the house to make sure no one was still there.
Police told CNN-affiliated WBZ television that they were talking to neighbors, and no one saw anything suspicious, there is no suspect.
"No crime has happened, nothing was missing or damaged, so the police have little to do," said Roman.
The security system was also not set for cameras that would be activated when the alarm goes off did not get images of the intruder. The timestamp on the door sensors showed that the one in the house for approx. 90 minutes.
Later, he discovered roses made from toilet paper in the bathroom, a detail that made him realize that this was probably a professional. His theory is that a cleaning service came to the wrong address, but his kitchen was untouched, making him second to guessing his suspicion.
He has since changed his locks and admits that he still opens the lockers very carefully if something unexpected is left behind.
Roman hopes to move past the ordeal, but he kept the toilet paper rose as a souvenir.
