On PlayStation 4, PlayStation Plus is not required; on Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold is required. And for PC players, a valid and active Blizzard Battle.net account is required.
Next to the beta that will be open to everyone, Treyarch has increased Level level to level 40. More content is now available to unlock and test, including:

In addition, Treyarch has made a playlist update to add a recurring mode: Control! Control first debuted in Black Ops 4, and it’s back in Black Ops Cold War.
Control joins our selection of 6v6 modes in Crossplay Open Beta. We are excited to bring back this Black Ops 4 fan favorite, where opposing teams are fighting to capture or defend two goals on the map or wipe out the other team before running out of lives.
Each team of up to six players has 30 lives spread across the team, which injects a new strategy layer for both attacking and defending teams. Jump into control this weekend at Cartel, Miami and Moscow
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta Weekend 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is live until Monday 19 October at 10 PT.

New in beta on October 16: Treyarch is activated Double XP and Double Weapon XP to help players get up!
Starting Friday, October 16th, we’ll enable 2XP and 2X Weapon XP for everyone for the rest of the Crossplay Open Beta weekend!
We’ve heard your feedback about wanting to try more attachments on the available weapons in Beta, and with even more weapons joining the battle when we increase the level cap on Thursday and Saturday, we’ll cut the time it takes to level up your arms in half. Enjoy!
This allows you to get to higher player rank and weapon level to unlock and experience more of the content during Beta.
Double XP and Double Weapon XP are live until Beta ends.
