Battlefield 2042 is ready for release on October 22 and will double the number of players in multiplayer matches to 128 for those playing on PC,and consoles. The states of conquest and breakthrough also return as the teams battle each other on seven large cards. Matches will also have dynamic events like storms to make the matches even crazier.
As expected with a game taking place in the future, there will be some futuristic weapons. Battlefield 2042 reveals trailer showing one of the new additions: a robot dog armed to its mechanical teeth. More of the gameplay will appear in a revelation coming on June 13th.
A major change coming to Battlefield 2042 is the lack of a campaign. “I think it’s just something that allows us to really lean into what we’re best at,” the game’s design director, Daniel Berlin, told Eurogamer on Wednesday. Berlin also says there are no plans for a battle-king state.
Even without a campaign, there is still a narrative of the action. In the 2030s, environmental and economic disasters will tear the world apart. Displaced people gather to survive and are called non-patriarchs or no-pats. The United States and Russia are beginning to use these soldiers without a country to fight their wars over resources in 2042.
Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox series consoles.
