Investigators confirmed human remnants found last week belonged to an 18-year-old Texas football player who has been missing for two years.
Thomas Brown's remnants were restored on January 9 in the Canadian side of a road near Lake Marvin, news station KFDA reported.
"We have been informed that remains of Tom Brown, Canadian, Texas, have been found out of Lake Marvin Road – near Lake Marvin," said a press release from Klein Investigations and Consulting, a private company hired the Brown family. "His remains have been confirmed through dental records."
Brown was reported missing on November 23, 2016 after spending the evening with friends and not returning home, according to the news station. Unsatisfied with the police's efforts, his family tried the private firm to investigate the school leader's disappearance.
The private investigators said Tuesday that the skeletal remains were found by someone who heard their call to "keep a look at Lake Marvin Road."
