At least 20,373 pounds of frozen beef patties are recalled for possibly containing pieces of plastic or other items that would be harmful to ingestion. The recall began on April 1, when a complaint was filed by two consumers who said they discovered bits of purple plastic in the food. AdvancePierre Foods, Inc., includes flame-broiled patties produced on November 30, 2018, in the recall. The products have the EST number "EST. 2260E." 14.06-lb. cases containing three bags of 30 pcs. for a total of 90 servings of "CN FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED" with the code 155-525-0 and parcel number 8334. Patties were dispatched nationwide and were distributed to schools but did not become part of the food provided by USDA for the National School Lunch Program.
