Apple will begin shipping the first iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro pre-orders before release on Friday

The first pre-orders for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have started to be sent out to early buyers. As usual, this does not mean that you should expect your iPhone 12 order to arrive earlier than October 23rd.

If you check your order status through Apple’s website, you’ll probably see that your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro is still “ready to ship.” However, if you go to the UPS website, you can track the progress of your order in a few simple steps.

To do so, either sign up for the UPS My Choice platform or use the “Reference Number Tracking” feature. The reference number is probably the phone number listed on your Apple order or your order number without the last two digits. Not all iPhones have been transferred to UPS yet, but be sure to keep checking all week.

As usual, Apple will not update the delivery status of new iPhone orders through its website until later in the week, when we are closer to the official release date. Finally, keep in mind that just because orders are already being shipped, does not mean you should expect your iPhone 1

2 or iPhone 12 Pro to arrive early. Apple is working closely with UPS to ensure that shipments arrive no earlier than Friday 23rd. October, regardless of the estimated date shown in the UPS.

On the other hand, as we detailed yesterday, the first iPhone 12 accessory is starting to arrive to customers. This includes MagSafe cases as well as the MagSafe charger itself. You can take a closer look at the new accessories in our full coverage right here.
