Apple releases iOS 14.7 beta 5 and more to developers and public beta testers

Apple has released the fifth developer beta of iOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.7 today. The company is also rolling out watchOS 7.6 developer beta 5 as well as tvOS 14.7 developer beta 5. Go below for the details.

Today’s new release of iOS 14.7 beta 5 is available to developers via an over-the-air update in the Settings app. As updated, if the update does not appear immediately for download, continue to check, as it sometimes takes a few minutes to roll out to all registered developers. The build number for today’s release is 18G5063a.

As we detailed last month, iOS 14.7 brings a new timer management feature to HomePod users:

Apple today introduced the first beta of iOS 1

4.7 to developers, and while this update does not appear to bring significant changes, it brings a new feature to HomePod users. With this new version of iOS, users will be able to set timers on the HomePod using the Home app on iPhone, iPad and possibly even Mac.

Here are all the new beta releases from Apple today:

  • macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta 5
  • iOS 14.7 beta 5 (18G5063a)
  • iPadOS 14.7 beta 5 (18G5063a)
  • watchOS 7.6 beta 5 (18U5561a)
  • tvOS 14.7 beta 5 (18M5559a)

There are still no words on when Apple will release these latest updates to the public, but we expect a release sooner rather than later, as we are now in the fifth beta and iOS 15 is now also available in beta.
