Learn how to use damage information
Much information is transferred to you the first time you hit an opponent with a shot. When you hit someone with your first ball, you can see how much damage you have inflicted – but Apex Legends also shows you exactly what kind of damage you are inflicting. If your opponent has collapsed, you will see an armor sign next to the damage number, and the color of the icon and numbers will tell you what kind of armor they are wearing. Knowing how much damage you do to an enemy can give you decisive insight into how a fight goes and whether you are likely to win it.
When you engage and shoot them, note the damage you have done and the armor they are wearing ̵
You can change how damage Information appears in Apex Legends to help you make these decisions. Damage info is by default set to "Stacking", which adds the entire damage together. You can change it to "Floating", which shows you how much damage each shot does individually, or "Both." Choose the one that helps you most – Stacking or Both must provide you with enough information to measure how close to death you are actually fighting.
