With all the dirty plays that linebacker Vontaze Burfict was known over the years in the NFL, perhaps no one was more infamous and harder to see than the one in which he unknowingly deflects Antonio Brown with a blow to his head. So, of course, when Raiders added both Brown and Burfict this offseason, the questions asked how the two would come together.
Burfict brushed the idea that there was friction between him and Brown, so far as to say he can't wait to meet him, and the two "may be the closest friends in the team."
Brown quickly went to twitter to let everyone know he and Burfict have spoken and there are no hard feelings. [1
"It's fun how the NFL will make you a villain with your own teammate now!" Brown said in his Instagram post. "Create a war in a war when we are pretty much everyone on the same team, even though we [wear] different jerseys! Yes things happen on the court with great respect, it's in the game! we have privacy families as real people! Encourage your brother not to knock them down or create a war among them, we are already fighting enough wars! Strengthen your people inspire your brother to encourage someone who does not bind them in the circumstances. " If anyone should understand how the media works, it's Brown. He used the media to create a play and force himself out of Pittsburgh. He cannot now be alarmed that they have spent the last 24 hours wondering how he and Burfict will coexist.
It's also the offseason. There are no games to discuss unless you really are in AAF.
NFL doesn't make a villain with their teammate, but if Brown found it important to clean the air about it, he just did it.
