Call me by my name: Anne Hathaway, 38, told Jimmy Fallon in an episode of The Tonight Show that she wants to be called ‘Annie’ going forward when she asked, ‘Everyone, call me Annie, thank you!’
‘Can we talk about my name for a moment ?,’ she asked Fallon, after introducing her as Anne, before asking her name.
Referring to her first commercial at the age of 14, where she was asked what name she wanted on her Screen Actors Guild card, she chose to go with her birth name and not realize that it would follow her for the rest of Its life.
‘The only person who ever calls me Anne is my mother, and she only does that when she’s really mad at me, who’s really mad,’ she said.
‘So every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me,’ she confessed.

Hathaway and Fallon went on to talk about her home life, as she is the mother of a four-year-old Jonathan and a one-year-old Jack with a husband of nine years, Adam Shulman.
Her new film Locked Down – which premieres Jan. 14 on HBO Max – is a quarantine-heist thriller about a long-running relationship that has run its course.
The plot emerges when the duo is forced to be quarantined together for 14 days after a colleague experiences symptoms and the couple decides to steal a 3M pound diamond from a mass murderer.
