Apple now sells a very interesting Anchor accessory, called Anker PowerCore Fusion with Power Delivery. In a package that is the same size as Apple's portable chargers, this unit doubles as both a USB-C charger and a 5000 mAh portable battery for on-the-go charging.
Try Amazon Prime 30 Days Free Trial This is the next generation of the previous PowerCore Fusion that has slow power supply and micro USB / USB A ports.
The new PowerCore boasts a USB-C port and a USB-A port. The USB-C port supports power supply and can transmit up to 30W of power to a MacBook, iPad or iPhone. The USB-A port can transmit 12W power, which is still outside Apple's charged 5W iPhone charger.
If connected to the wall, the PowerCore puts the sound into its own internal battery. If you get caught during the journey, you can start to sip the battery stored inside the charger. The capacity of 5000 mAh can fully charge modern iPhones, with much more to spare.
Anker uses gallium nitride technology to deliver both a wall charger and a portable battery in such a compact design. Anker has offered a standard 30W GaN charger for some time, and now it uses the space saving to incorporate a high-capacity battery into a charger that is basically the same as Apple's classic USB-C chargers.
In addition to being a cool product by itself, this is the first time Apple has (indirectly) approved the gallium nitride technology. GaN allows manufacturers to make very small chargers while providing high wattage throughput. It is not yet seen whether Apple will ever upgrade its 5W charger to anything more powerful by using GaN to keep the small form factor.
PowerCore Fusion can now be purchased at the Apple Store online and costs $ 99, available in white or black. For comparison, Apple's 30 watt charger costs $ 49 – and lacks the portable battery feature completely.
