The outer worlds on Switch asked a lot of conversations about whether some sacrifices are worth bringing when porting a game to weaker hardware. For those who played it on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, it was definitely a noticeable downgrade. For me, having never played it on stronger systems, I found it to be decent enough.
It looked rough and disappointingly barren, but that may change later this month when the long-awaited patch is released on Switch. Full patch notes are being withheld for now, but the game’s Twitter page decided to give us a sneak peek at how the visuals improve with the download.
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that employees on the Nintendo Switch platform can expect to see a patch reach their device on October 21st!
