While some NBA teams were busy making a dramatic push for a playoff spot or sending off a The New Orleans Pelicans were just trying to get their final game against the Warriors over with and slink away from what's been in a disastrous season. The game itself was unremarkable, but head coach Alvin made sure that the season would not be quietly.

Gentry huddled up with reporters after the game, and decided to cut loose a little bit. When asked about how Anthony Davis' midseason trade demand had affected the team, he said that it had created the most toxic environment ever. From ESPN:

"Not this toxic, no," Gentry said. “Not that affected two teams. And two guys. One lost his job, and the other one resigned from his job. So now, in 31 years I had anything that would equal this kind of fallout. No, you haven't. ”

Gentry was then asked for his opinion on how Davis acted himself this season. After describing Davis as a "very good kid" and "solid guy," Gentry hesitated for a moment before declaring that Davis had gotten bad advice:

Reasonable minds can disagree on whether Davis picked the right time to make his trade demand, or if anyone advises him to get away from the organization that has spent the last seven seasons failing to build a stable roster around one of the very best players in the game counts as "bad advice." But if Gentry is looking for anyone to blame for creating a toxic environment in the organization, it should look at the executives above him, who first refused to honor Davis's trade request and then decided to have him floated in and out of the lineup for unclear reasons.
