- Adele shared new photos for Instagram to celebrate her 33rd birthday.
- One of the pictures shows the singer dancing with a slimmer body.
- The singer-songwriter has reportedly lost 100 pounds after adopting a new diet plan and more intense workout routine, according to a trainer who has worked with her.
Adele just celebrated her 33rd birthday, or as she describes it, “thirty free.” She has been living her best life for years, but fans have noticed a change in her the last few years. It seems she has been super happy and she has reportedly made healthy lifestyle changes that have led to weight loss.
Worth noting: Adele has never spoken publicly about her weight loss, and that is clearly her power. But it is only natural to have questions about such a big change.
So … how did Adele lose weight? To begin with, Adele reportedly went on the Sirfood Diet, which focuses on eating certain proteins. She also gave up processed food, sugar and sodas. (But more on all that later.)
Here’s all there is to know about Adele’s healthy lifestyle – and how she got there.
Adele started making headlines with her weight loss in late 2019.
Again, Adele has not ~ actually ~ talked about her weight loss, but she has shared photos showing the changes. She first made headlines at Drake’s birthday party in October Page six, and in a photo of her probably by shindig, she said: “I cried, but now I’re sweating 😂”
Adele got fans talking again with a Christmas photo of her posing with someone dressed as Grinch, with fans calling her an “inspiration”. One wrote: “You are beautiful now and you were beautiful before !!!”
In January 2020, a 19-year-old fan told People that she had a brief conversation with Adele at a restaurant. “She said she lost something like £ 100 and that it’s such a crazy positive experience,” the tab told the publication. “She seemed so happy and she looked amazing. She seemed really confident.”
Then, for her 32nd birthday in May 2020, Adele posted a more dramatic picture to thank her fans for all the love and success as well as the first responders and key staff “for keeping us safe.”
Fans barely recognized the singer in August 2020 when she posted a photo to congratulate Beyonce on the release of Black Is King. “Thank you Queen for always making us all feel so loved through your art ♥ ️ ♥ ️,” she wrote in her caption.
Since then, Adele has been seen in a bikini top with the Jamaican flag as a tribute to the Notting Hill Carnival. “Glad what would be Notting Hill Carnival my beloved London 🇬🇧🇯🇲,” she wrote in the caption. One commenter added: “We’re glad she’s living her best life here …. You look good she …”
Adele appeared on SNL in October 2020, and fans were quick to notice the singer’s weight loss.
She also joked about it in her introductory monologue. “I know I’m looking really different since you last saw me,” Adele said. “But actually because of all the Covid limitations … I had to travel easily and could only take half of me, and that’s the half I chose.”
Adele hasn’t shared much on Instagram recently, but she dropped a series of photos on May 5 to celebrate her 33rd birthday. She added two words “Thirty free” in the caption.
The pictures show a smiling and slim Adele – without makeup, swimming in turquoise blue water and spinning around in a beautiful dress with a tie color print.
Adele’s weight loss is primarily due to a new diet plan.
The secret behind Adele’s weight loss, according to personal trainer and Pilates instructor Camila Goodis, is not hours spent in the gym, but a complete review of her regular diet. Goodis met the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter during a training session with Adele’s friend and former X-factor Judge Adya Field. While Adele is not currently one of Goodis’ clients, the trainer believes that “90 percent” of Adele’s weight loss is the result of a change in her diet, including the elimination of processed foods, sugar and sodas.
“I don’t think she liked exercising much, but she’s changed her lifestyle,” Goodis said The sun. “Giving up processed foods, sugar, sodas and getting into a workout routine, like cardio and strength training, will change people’s bodies.”
Adele has also tried the Sirtfood diet per New York Post—A diet plan that focuses on sirtuins, aka proteins in your body, that specialize in cellular health and metabolism. The diet includes kale, extra virgin olive oil, buckwheat, matcha, blueberries and arugula, but also allows for red wine and dark chocolate, according to Post.
However, nutritionist Glen Matten, who helped develop the program, told the publication that the diet is tough with even the few indulgences. For three days, participants only need to eat 1,000 calories a day with sirtuin-heavy foods and green juices before increasing their calorie intake to 1,500 calories a day.
And Adele’s more intense workout routine includes three workout programs a week.
In addition to changing her diet, Adele worked with a personal trainer. The singer started his new training plan and worked out three times a week according to US Weekly. “She does 60-minute sessions that include cardio, circuit training and pilates,” a source told the publication in July 2019. “She has found a routine that works for her and enjoys it more.”
Adele does not sweat alone. She reportedly had pilates with Meghan Markle, NBD. Adele had visited Sussex’s house when they lived in LA to take private Pilates lessons with Meghan. The Pilates instructor has also worked with Harry, who sees exercise as a great way to relieve stress.
Weight loss or not, Adele seems incredibly happy these days. And really, that’s all that matters.
