You knew it would happen sooner or later.

Aaron Rodgers dropped a Turd Ferguson reference on his second night as a guest host of “Jeopardy!”

It came up during the competitor’s chat on Tuesday when Rodgers spoke with returning champ Brandon Deutsch.

“It says here, when you were 4 months old, did Burt Reynolds – or was it Turd Ferguson – hold you at some point?” Rodgers asked, grooving forehead for extra effect.

The name, of course, comes from a “Celebrity Jeopardy!” sketch on “Saturday Night Live,” in which Norm Macdonald’s chewing gum Burt Reynolds’ character changed his name on the podium to Turd Ferguson.

It turns out that Deutsch as an infant was sitting next to Reynolds on a flight.

It was a bit of a full circle moment for Rodgers and Ferguson.

In 2015, when Rodgers competed for “Celebrity Jeopardy!” he wrote “Who Is Turd Ferguson” down to Final Jeopardy! during tests. When he won the show, he tweeted after it aired: “Had it an explosion on @Jeopardy that ticked off another item on the list. Should have said turd ferguson about the last danger though. ”

On Tuesday, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula also came up in Rodger’s conversation with attorney Chris Hammer, who said he was training for a 31-mile marathon there. Unfortunately, no shout from Rodgers to “UP,” the local shorthand for the region north of Wisconsin.

But he gave props to Brett Favre without mentioning him by name in the opening of the show, where he talked about filling out the late Alex Trebek.

“Following in the footsteps of a legend is something I know a little about, and I learned that the best way to honor their legacy is to put in the work and deliver at the highest level. So over the next two weeks, I hope I can do Alex proud, ”Rodgers said.

USA TODAY, Rodgers is currently in the middle of the pack at its best to worst ranking of the five guest hosts so far – ahead of Dr. Mehmet Oz (5) and Katie Couric (4) but behind Ken Jennings (2) and Mike Richards (1).

“If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like for a very cool, very friendly bridge to host the game show, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is here for you,” Kelly Lawler wrote. He gets props for his “extremely relaxed and friendly presence,” but his approach is at times “a little too casual.”

For viewers wondering what Rodgers said as the final credit, music played to contestant Scott Shewfelt, who humorously played “Who would kick the field goal?” card during Final Jeopardy! on Monday night’s episode, “Jeopardy!” published a clip of this exchange.

Rodgers earned an additional $ 27,401 from Tuesday’s episode for his designated charity, the North Valley Community Foundation in his hometown of Chico, California.
