Dr. Tania Elliott, an allergist and spokesperson for Flonase, tells Bustle that there are a few common culprits that cause these irritating, spring-toxic allergies. "The wood pollen is the most common trigger for spring allergy season, beginning in mid-March, and lasting until late May. Then we see grass pollen kick in from late May to late July followed by weeds and ragweed pollen that causes allergies in August to the first frost, "she explains. first Prepare Your Medications In Time
Instead of waiting until the last minute to visit your doctor or pharmacist, try to trap your medication before you start experiencing allergy symptoms. Dr. Purvi Parikh, an allergy and immunologist with the Allergy and Asthma Network, says to start using "allergy pills, nasal sprays and [your] inhalers prior to for seasonal start ̵
2nd Be Compatible With Your Drugs
It is important not only to put on allergy medications beforehand, but it is also important to check that you are using them properly. "One of the most common misconceptions I see in clinical practice is people using nasal steroid sprays after their symptoms start, and only as needed," says Elliott. 3rd Clean Your Bedroom
Spring cleaning can be a bore, but taking on this task can help you beat some of your seasonal allergies. "Make your bedroom safe," says Parikh. "Air purifiers, dust mites, [and] carpet removal will reduce your indoor allergen load, so when outdoor allergens arrive, it becomes more manageable." She adds that keeping your windows closed "during peak pollen seasons, such as early morning" may also benefit your health.

Elliott suggests downloading a pollen tracking app – such as. Weather Channel's Allergy Tracker – to limit your exposure to this common trigger.

Of course, it is always a good idea to check in with your health provider about your allergies. Parikh says "see a board-certified allergyist to teach your triggers and [to learn] if you control them properly."
6th Avoid Products That Attract Pollen
According to Elliott, some items may make you more susceptible to interrupting pollen-related allergies. "On moderate to high pollen count days, be sure to take precautions like […] and avoid wearing hair spray because the pollen can stick to your hair. And consider wearing glasses instead of contact lenses (pollen can get stuck in contacts) or wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes, "she says.
7th Dry your ventilation devices and ceiling fans of
The spring uses warm welcome temperatures. But before turning on your air conditioning and ceiling fans, be sure to dry them both down really well. "You want to avoid turning them on for the first time when they are dirty, which can pollute the air," Elliott says.
