We are a little under two weeks from 2019 NFL Draft. The private training passes and visits will soon be wrapped up, and the Detroit Lions front office, scouting department and coaching staff are busy completing the big table.
It is still too early to know for sure what will happen in Titan's home on draft weekend. The team itself does not know which players will be available at No. 8. Overall.
The Mississippi State EDGE Montez Sweat has been associated with the team since the Senior Bowl, where he proved to be the best player in Mobile after earning positive attention on the roads as well.
There are absolutely other options in # 8 overall, and my educated guess is that some in the organization will strongly promote others. But sweat is the epitome of what Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia publicly stated they want: Impact athletes with positional versatility and playmaking potential. Sweat is off-the-chart athletic test pair with its strong productivity in Mississippi State.
