Foreign intelligence has announced that Mohammed Cassim Mohamed Zaharan aka Zaharan Hashmi head of National Thoughheeth Jama and his supporters are planning suicide attacks in this country. The reports noted that these attacks could target Catholic churches and the Indian High Commission in Colombo. (Information received is at Appendix A )
Information has been received that people known as Zaharan Hashmi and Shahid are currently hiding in Oluvil in the Akkaraipattu region after the incidents of destroying religious statues in Mawanella in December 26, 2018.
A person known as Rilwan has been identified as a younger brother of Zaharan, and the greatest recruiter of Zaharan supporters – named Mohamed Cassim Mohammed Rilwan NIC No. 903432624V resident at [ address redakted ] from Kattankudy Police Division
It has been found that this person is currently hiding from a clash between NTJ and another religious organization in Kattankudy on March 10, 2018. Even while in hiding, he has worked to build supporters of Zaharan in Akkaraipattu, Kuliyapitiya, Puttalam, Mawanella and Thihariya and is currently resident in the home of one of his close relatives in Oluvil region.  A person named Milhan maintains a social media account called Mohammed Milhan and interacts with Zaharan's social media. It has been observed that since March 15, 2019, he has regularly updated accounts with hadatal yet non-Muslims, attacking a Muslim mosque by a Christian in New Zealand.
Mohammed Milhan, who studied at Kalmunai Zahira College, uses[ phone number edited ] and as an ardent supporter of Zaharan, has been observed as a person who has deep hatred for nonbelievers.
Although Zaharan has not specifically called on his recruits for direct attacks on Catholic churches or the Indian High Commission, he has since 2016 proclaimed his followers that the assassination of non-believers is an extremely noble religious effort and that Islam must spread through such actions.
