In the works for three and a half years, the original third season of Scream finally goes on the air – on VH1 instead of its original home on MTV.
Six episode season of Scream: Resurrection will debut Monday, July 8, and run for two hours at night, from 6:00 pm. 21:00 to Wednesday, July 10. The cable network, which, like MTV, is monitored by Chris McCarthy, has not released a script series for several years. Scream was the last remaining script series earmarked for MTV after Teen Wolf wrapped his race some years ago, although the network had previously announced some development in space.

Season three centers at Deion Elliot (RJ Cyler), a local star football running back, whose tragic past comes back to haunt him and threaten his hard-earned plans for the future – and the life of his unlikely friendship. The cast also includes Mary J. Blige, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Tyga, Giorgia Whigham, Jessica Sula, C.J. Wallace and Giullian Yao Gioiello. The first-looking season three trailer also reveals that Paris Jackson becomes the guest star.
Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad also produce exec. Matthew Signer and Keith Levine produce the series of VH1's Maggie Malina and Dana Gotlieb-Carter Supervision.
