3 Philadelphia dental practice closed, patients called to be tested

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has announced the closure of three Philadelphia Dental Offices for incorrect reprocessing and sterilization of dental care equipment and lapses in injection safety practices.

The Health Department says that three Trieu Family Dental Clinics are closed at the following locations:

– 437 West Chew Avenue

– 6536 Woodland Avenue

Patients attending these offices Between January 1, 2017 and December 7, 2018, it is recommended to be tested for hepatitis C virus, hepatitis B virus and HIV.

All three sites were closed last December after receiving an anonymous tip.

These three clinics must not reopen until the health department is convinced that all uncertain practices have been remedied.

A hotline has been created for patients with questions. Patients can call (21
