SHELDON, NY (AP) – Three family members were killed and six others were injured in a crash while heading to Niagara Falls on a vacation weekend trip, when a suspected drunken driver's pickup truck hit their SUV, the authorities said.
A child of 4 was among the dead and four other children were injured, said Wyoming County Sheriff Gregory Rudolph.

Investigators believe that the pickup ran a stop sign and hit the SUV & # 39; 6.30 am at an intersection in Sheldon, Rudolph said. Sheldon is a small town about 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Buffalo.
SUV & # 39; s transported nine members of a New Jersey family, the sheriff said.
The impact struck two women from the SUV and killed them on the scene of the crash. The 4-year-old was taken to a hospital with head injuries and did not survive them.
Six others, including four children aged 4 to 14, were taken to hospitals. A man was released after treatment. The other conditions were not immediately available.
None of the relatives' identities or hometowns were released when the authorities worked to inform their family.
The pickup driver Richard Sawicki, 20, was arrested on aggravated vehicle killings, DWI and ruthless driving. He was arraigned and held a $ 200,000 bond.
Messages were left at his law office and possible phone numbers for his Lackawanna home.
Sawicki will be back in court June 10.
