2 Hamilton Heights students die in collapse on their way to prom – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather



ARCADIA, Ind. (WISHES) – Two students from Hamilton Heights died in a crash Saturday night on their way to the prom, and the district has canceled all prom activities to provide grief counseling to students.

Superintendent Derek Arrowood shared a message on the district’s Facebook page on Saturday, saying the students were in an accident on their way to the prom, which was held at the Elite Banquet Center in Kokomo.

Mourning counselors and members of denominations would be present at the Kokomo Banquet Center and Hamilton Heights Media Center, Arrowood said.

The shock happened around noon. 17.15 near the intersection of 281

st Street and Lacy Road near Arcadia, Deputy Ryan McClain confirmed with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and two other people were injured. Their relationship was not immediately available.

No information about the students’ identity or the circumstances of the crash was immediately provided.
