An 18-year-old in Ohio recently told his parents' wishes and took his health in his own hands by being vaccinated.
In a now-viral Reddit post, Ethan Lindenberger explained that his parents believe "vaccines are a sort of governmental system."
He told the social media community that even though his mother was angry with his decision, something he needed.
On Monday, Lindenberger told Fox & Friends that his mother believes vaccines cause side effects such as autism and brain injury, but he received five vaccines after receiving information at his local public health department.

"I tried to give her as many evidence as I had, and it has not yet crossed, but hopes it will eventually do so," he said.
Lindenberger also said that his 16-year-old brother wants to be vaccinated as he, but must wait until he can legally do so in the age of 18.
He also said that since he was vaccinated, he and his mother talked about their opposite views.
"This question is more important than accidentally damaging the feelings of others to just disagree with them" he said. "And confirm the encouragement that I love her has allowed me to do so and pursue this story publicly."
